 We will continue with the Montessori philosophy during the summer sessions for children ages 2 to 7 years.  We will be incorporating a variety of outdoor activities such as working in the garden, increased outdoor work cycle, alternative days for swimming, walks to the beach, and picnic style lunches under our lovely covered porches.

 

Themes

Our themes will be explored using a learning process the children will surely remember.

 

First Summer Session

 

Theme: Dinosaurs

Four Weeks

June 11^th – July 6^th

Children love dinosaurs because of the mysterious excitement involved.  We will have discussions of the different types of dinosaurs including stories, art activities and songs.  Each child will get a chance to become a “paleontologist” creative activity such as digging up simulated dinosaur bones from our sandbox, picking out chocolate chips from cookies and recording number of chips collected on a class data chart.

Second Summer Session

 

Theme: Dr. Seuss

Four weeks

July 9^th – August 3rd

Dr. Seuss is one of the most beloved children’s book writers.  His books are funny, have great illustrations and the poetry is fantastic.  We will dress up as characters from some of his most popular books.  Have creative artwork including puppets and cooking activities.  There will be an enormous amount of language activities.  We will talk about the writer and how he became famous.

 

Hours and Tuition:

Half Day: 8:45 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. M – F $550.00 each session

Extended Day: 8:45 a.m. – 3:15 p.m. M – F $680.00 each session

Full Day: 8:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. M – F $780.00 each session

School will be closed on July 4^th, 2012

A non-refundable deposit of $100.00 is required with the application for each session.  The balance is due by April 1^st, 2012.  No tuition refunds will be made due to absence or withdrawal during the summer sessions.

The primary goals for East Beach Montessori will be to provide a nurturing and caring establishment following the philosophies of Maria Montessori. We aim to meet the needs of parents who are looking for an alternative method of teaching and also provide full day care for those parents who need it. We believe fervently that children need continuity of philosophy throughout the day. In order to achieve that we will have a Montessori teacher all day, not just the morning and extended day periods. This means the children will feel comfortable and secure knowing they will not be seeing different adults throughout the day.
